Members of the Rotorua Climbing Club regularly compete in climbing competitions at a regional and national level.  In the past we have members who have represented New Zealand at the IFSC World Youth Championships.

Congratulations to Alex Jones and Tayla Atkin who have been selected for the New Zealand Junior Team named on 29 April.  Alex and Tayla will compete at the World Youth Championships to be held in Edinburgh, Scotland during September.

2010 National Cup Series comes to Rotorua

The Rotorua Climbing Club, in conjuction with The Wall, will be hosting the Second Round of the Climbing NZ 2010 National Cup Series over the weekend of 22/23 May. 

All grades from Youth D (Under 12) up to Open, and Masters (Over 35) will be competing.

2010 Regional Competitions

Regional Competitions are held every year in the Bay of Plenty/Waikato/King Country regions.  Currently the regional competitions include events in Rotorua, Mount Maunganui, Taupo, Turangi and Hamilton.  Regional Competitions are all about fun and participation, and are a good introduction to competitive climbing in a relaxed environment.
 

For 2010 the series is as follows:
 

Sunday, 28 February 2010 - The Wall, Rotorua
 

Sunday, 14 March 2010 -  The Rockhouse, Mount Mauganui
 

Sunday, 28 March 2010 - Vertical Assault, Turangi
 

Saturday, 24 April 2010 - Extreme Edge, Hamilton
 

Saturday 10 May 2010 - Taupo Event Centre, Taupo
